Oh, I could film a great version of that show around here. Lot's of vagrants living on boats, some of them are even my friends! And some of them make the characters on Trailer Park Boys look tame by comparison...

I just love it when you folks have nothing better to do then spend your time insulting each other, however, I would prefer if you kept to the rules of the forum and managed to while away the hours being courteous to each other.

Thank you and fair winds instead of hot air to you all.

Wow! This thread is shrinking!

I guess I'm late!

Maybe this is a good time to switch the topic to buckets?

I still do this today. Each cruising season I set a date and we go. We typically don't go far, but we leave the dock.

I suggest the same for "wannabees" -- set a date and go -- you don't need all those fancy toys you think you can't live without -- just go!

great advice! it is amazing how many boats never seem to move,in my area 2or 3 boats in the mooring field have sunk from all the rain we have been having

Think I saw that once one time in florida. I'm thinking a show a little less tame, something along the lines of "Down and anchored out in Richardson Bay". Where quaint anchor outs invade a SF yacht club for a day...Sounds like a hoot!

Though lucky me, I've never actually watched a reality tv show. Too busy living it anchored out on a boat...

As we were all wannabees at one time or another, Seems most of us are still floating and messing around in boats.

Sorry to interrupt, ya'll go on back to your fuss'in now.

Re: What happens to all the wannabees?

We had one of those "boat park boys" go past last night in the dark - swearing and cursing to be heard from more than 200 meters away - f-ing you, f-ing them c's #@><?^$!!! Got just outside the marina still yelling his nut off, threw out his pick in the channel then went silent. My guess is he got woken up and sent packing by marina staff & didn't like it. Would have been a great clip for your proposed show.

How about you start another thread and talk about the passage to Halifax? Again, if I got it right, that applies to all wannabes or ex-wannabes. If not, forgive me.

wise words, exactly my intentions when starting the thread, possably the title was a bit emotive, but then who would have replied

Re: What happens to all the wannabees?

ATOLL .... Maybe you don't hear from these Wannabees is because they're out sailing like in the link you put on you're first post. Just my 2 cents. I know when I get launched the last thing I'm going looking for is an iternet link.

SAILORCHIC34 .... look for me up there in my Spencer 42 in about a year from now. Richardson Bay is where I intend on hang out while I do sea trials and get some blue water experience before I head up to Puget Sound, then down to the South Pacific.

I like to shoot skeet from the foredeck on cool winter evenings. Neighbours don't seem to mind, or at least they've never said anything.
