Though the "group" just went from 7 to 3, and new videos are less frequent at the moment.

True, I still liked the last videos a lot. And I suspect it wouldnt be the same with just Brian and Karin. They have also been at it for a long time already, cant be easy turning out decent videos at that rate.

Just watched a few episodes of Sail Surf ROAM - not just sailing as you can tell from the name, but excellent production quality!

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

I thoroughly enjoy most of these sail vlogs, so don't get me wrong.

1) I've noticed that while most of them are (or becoming) very knowledgeable about a wide variety of boat handling skills, they aren't very knowledgeable about sail trim. Yes I get optimal trim isn't important for short trips, but I'd think if you're sailing for days or weeks it would worth trying to keep the boat moving fast. Going downwind for days or weeks with no chute? Wing and wing? Going upwind with headsail sheet outside the lifelines, pressed into it? Flapping leeches? Boom way above centerline?

2) Also one of my favorites bought a run down boat for €8.000 and proceeded to put €25.000 into it before shoving off, with another €8.000 planned? Maybe it'll name sense with all the sweat equity?

Again, on balance I truly admire these people, and I'm glad they're sharing their adventures.

RAN Sailing is decent. Nice couple. Some good drone footage mixed in. Swedish couple.

The main thing all these bloggers have in common: They are all out there doing it.

We dusted off the boat and went back cruising again because of Sailing La Vagabonde (my wife refers to Elayna as my girlfriend). So we're Patrons of theirs and I've never felt like I got a better value for my money.

Well. That's something you never know. My old fat and ugly English neighbour here is 'Priscilla' at fb.

Remain skeptic, until and if you actually run into them.

You may remember some time back at CF we found one of the best youtube vagabond sailing vids was done by a guy who sailed ?what? from Miami to Bikini?

The title said 'Sailing a Small Boat Round the World' or something alike.

What you get to see in the social media is what others edit and want you to watch, for pecuniary motivations.

Look at any single girl's fb page - you never see their exs there. How come. Must be some social media virgins or something. NO?

Cheers,
b.

All bloggers are out there BLOGGING.

'Out there doing it' is still at times used in the meaning "out there sailing".

A word play. Quite common in publicity stunts, adds, forums, etc.

That's what I meant. If you're filming yourself sailing and cruising, it's pretty hard not to be sailing and cruising when you're doing it.

More fun than watching TV!

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

I sail for 6 months of the year and during the 6 months not sailing I watch a lot of YT blogs. I like Delos the best and have been following them since the beginning. It might have even been them that inspired me to buy my first boat.
Anyway, they just have a natural style, they haven't changed much even with their fame. You can really see that the just enjoy the adventures, the people they meet etc.
I liked La Vagabond in the beginning but have gone off them recently. The fame and money they now earn form it has taken away form the show in my opinion. They even have a dedicated filter on board but the quality if the filming, the "vibe" is much worse now.
Good on them though for making it happen.

I too have a You Tube channel and post video most weeks. May - October they are about sailing/cruising, October - May they about about my job as a snowboard/outdoor sport photographer.
Take a look if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgF...bewXrksprcvFJA

The best imho is Alex on Winded Voyage. Great camera work and content not reliant on boobs and bikinis to get his story across.
