Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

Just went through my subscriptions and here area few more:

Two Aboard Tuuli. Steel boat, young couple. Going down the European coast. Looks like they got tired of filming. Very infrequent.

Sailing Everlong - Aussie group plan to sail from Med back home. Nice group.

Have Wind Will Travel - ex-attorney turned sailing author. If you can get through the selling bit, it grows on you. Some interesting episodes. Cuba and Caribbean.

Sailing SV Escape - just tuned in. Not really liking it, but they have some previous electronics stuff that was interesting. Bahamas now.

SailingWithAndy (all together) - Left Seattle down the West Coast, then to Hawaii and across to Polynesia. So, so.

Sailing Green Coconut Run - surfers. Can't figure it out too well. Seems like a cooperative but not sure where it is headed. Jumbled message but some fun episodes. Mexico.

Technomadia - Like Wynn's, making the transition from RV. But they are looking for a trawler. Very techie people with some real good info on electronics, WiFi, cellular, etc.

Sailing Vessel Adventurer - Adventurous/athletic couple going down the West Coast into Mexico. Funny narrative from guy.

LuckyFish Gets Away - Aussie (I think) with two asian women. Seems like a crazy guy. Just watched a couple of episodes. Kinda like watching a train wreck. Rounded the Cape.

Return to Seasons - A lot of DYI stuff mixed in at the beginning. Couple on East Coast.

Resolute Sets Sail - Younger couple on West Coast down to Baja.

Hey Yolo...yup. They were just on La Vagabond this last week.

Funny how many of them end up meeting out in the world.

They dont look accurate. Think SLV makes $1600 a video.

Where did you get that number from? What would make the numbers listed on Patreon not accurate?

I was never able to get full engaged in SLV, I think their videos are good and I think they are both entertaining just never committed to staying up to date with them. I don't think their subscriptions will be negatively effected by the new boat. They, just like all of them have to keep it fresh, and that will be the challenge.

I agree that these vlogs will make cruising popular, not sure overly but then again I hope more people especially Americans would engage that life style. I think at the end of the day more and more people will watch the vlogs and dream but people seem to rarely move forward with these kinds of dreams. It is easier to watch someone else live your dream than work to live it yourself. Only time will tell but in my opinion more is better, I personally hope it will help protect out seas as people began to capture their beauty.

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

Riley from SLV recently made a 1000 mile, singlehanded trip from Tonga to New Zealand. He made a short video each day. I was surprised how much I enjoyed them. Elayna seems lovely, but the singlehanded videos were more about the voyage.

I'll be interested in seeing how many of the issues typically associated with a brand new boat get documented in their next-gen videos. Or, whether the relationship with Outremer causes them to self-censor.

Of course there's always the possibility that Outremers don't have issues.

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

Sv Delos
La Vagabonde (soon to be a catamaran)
Gone with the Wynns (catamaran)
Sailing Doodles
Out Chasing Stars (catamaran)
Sailing Uma
Sailing Trio Travels (catamaran)
Sailing Vessel Prism
Sea Change

All channels are different and each has thier own style. I read alot of people who like to proclaim one channel better than the other or just generally hate on a sailing channel... like Gone With the Wynns. I say at least each one of these are out there, sailing and living aboard thier vessels, and I appreciate thier efforts.

SV Delos and la vega keep me sane while I scrimp and save. October October October 8 months to go and I hope my videos are half as interesting and well received. They really inspire people and help people to keep their eye on the prize.
