About Garmin

I bought an 200i VHF 2014 and thought the VHF thing is done. The unit is mounted in the navigation room without any sunlight. Suddenly after 9 years the coating of the cord is falling off.

I found another case on the net. The unit was bought 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 years ago - same problem.

And the best of it: garmin refuses to sell spare parts after the unit is discontinued maybe 3 1/2 years.

And because of the "poorest quality that is being selled to the satisfied customer" (one essential law of quality-management) it is useless to look for a preowned one.

So, everyone has to decide for himself if he buys products of this vendor any more but be warned because Garmin is buying almost all competitors in a rapid manner.

And as a resume: What you don't have can't brake.
