AIS app

I've been using navionics on my tablet for years with no issues, until a couple of days ago navionics on the tablet stopped picking up the ais signal through my nmea to wifi converter. I've tried reinstalling the navionics etc but nothing works. My phones with navionics pick up the ais no problem and the tablet will connect with a wifi Hotspot.

So at a bit of a loss and wondering if anyone has found an alternative app that will pick up the ais data through the boat nmea wifi network?

Many thanks.

Re: AIS app

Based on your statement that your phones Navionics pick up the AIS, your issue is probably a Navionics setting issue in your tablet. Contact Navionics support.
If you want to consider another navigation app with AIS integration you should look at Aqua Maps. That has the best AIS display of any app I’ve used.

That app only transmits and receives via the MarineTraffic network, which means the information received is delayed and incomplete. MarineTraffic can only show what its shore stations pick up, and there are gaps. Not only that, any positions it transmits are ONLY visible via the web. This means other boats on the water that are equipped with AIS transceivers cannot see you.

Re: AIS app

I have Aquamap, Coastal Explorer, and OpenCPN on tablets all connecting to NMEA WiFi and receiving AIS.

Should have said, but no the tablet doesn't pick up either ais or depth.

Re: AIS app

Can you post a screen capture of the Paired Devices screen?

Can you confirm that the tablet and the phone are connected to the same wifi network?

Does the wifi network have a connection limit? On mine, it only allowed 2 devices connected simultaneously....

Re: AIS app

No depth & no AIS ?

Assuming your connections are correctly configured, it sounds like your Navionics subscription on that device may have expired.
