AIS EM TRAK B924 connect with MDF E80

Hi everyone,
I am new in this forum. I am italian living in France.

Getting in touch with you since I bought AIS EM TRAK B924 to transfer AIS data by WI-FI to my on-board tablet, it works fine. Now I would like to connect the AIS to my MDF Raymarine E80. The AIS has 2 NMEA 0183 ports and 1 NMEA 2000. My MDF E80 has 1 NMEA 0183 port already occupied by auto-pilot. My E80 has only Sealtalk 2 port available.
How could I connect the EM TRACK with my E80?
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Re: AIS EM TRAK B924 connect with MDF E80

If the com port is already used by the pilot you can’t connect it.

You would need a nmea 183 multiplexer that has inputs and outputs in both speeds. Which gets a bit complicated.

If the pilot is raymarine then the pilot should be using seatalk instead and you can free up the 183 port for the ais.

Re: AIS EM TRAK B924 connect with MDF E80

Review the install/user manual for the M924 and you will find details on the NMEA multiplexing that is supported by the AIS unit.

https://em-trak.com/support/?prod=756

You can connect the EMTrak to the E80 NMEA0183 port (at 38400 baud), and connect the Pilot to the EMTrak's slower 4800 baud port and the AIS will pass the data through both directions.
