Autohelm ST50, Garmin Plotter, Garmin AIS and OpenCPN

Hi,

For quite a while I have been trying to figure out how to combine the following:
- Autohelm ST50+ Wind, Logg and Compass
- Garmin GPSMAP 4012
- Garmin AIS
- OpenCPN

The Plotter and AIS are today connected through an NMEA2000 network. Ideally I would like to connect that to OpenCPN. But last thing I heard about that is that OpenCPN is NMEA0183 only. Any converter available?

Then is the question about the Autohelm stuff. Communication is Seatalk (first generation). Is it possible to connect it to the NMEA2000 network? Or other options to convert to NMEA0183 into OpenCPN?

Last season I did some testing with a multiplexor from ShipModul and connected the plotter and AIS to OpenCPN via NMEA0183. Missing the Autohelm stuff. Another obstacle was the extra set of cables from plotter and AIS for NMEA0183. There isn't really room for the extra cables, and I am kind of reluctant to start tearing down the interior just to fit extra cables. Hence - ability to hook in to the existing NMEA2000 would be great.

Best wishes,
Lulle
