Autohelm ST5000 Actuator / Ball Screw Needed Desperately!!

Hi there,

This is my first post on here, so here's hoping I get this right

I have completely overhauled my Raymarine Autohelm ST5000 Sterndrive system, new motor, wiring etc. as I was soooo happy with how it handled my Heavenly Twins 27 Catamaran, so I wanted to stick with what I know to be a great system for the boat and so as a final part of the maintenance I also took apart the Actuator ball screw fitting on the linear drive to replace the ball bearings and stupidly went to "tap" the cover plate back on and it popped straight on overboard to Davey Jones locker !!!

I have tried just about every Raymarine Repair outlet in Australia in the hope that they may have this simple little fitting sitting in a box somewhere from a redundant system.... but alas to no avail

Does anyone out there have one of these sitting around somewhere that they don't need? I would be happy to pay for it and obviously any shipping required from anywhere in the world, I am just desperate to locate this part....

PLEASE PLEASE help me find this

With much appreciation for any guidance or assistance you can provide on this.

Best wishes,

Buffy
I'm hoping that I can upload a few photos of the part I'm after so it should be clear what it is I'm after....

Hello There:
Doubt this will be of any use as your post was quite some time ago, but just in case you haven't yet found what you are looking for, and are still looking, I would suggest you check out SKF bearings on the internet - they make ball nuts (that is what you are looking for) and have a pretty good selection. I found an exact replacement for the one in my autohelm 5000 (it is a metric item - 16 mm ball screw with a 5mm lead and the ball nut has a 26mmx1.5mm thread which threads into the tube). Yours may be different measurements - you would have to check. The only issue will then be finding someone who sells SKF!!!
Regards,
Rob

Hello Buffy:
Thank you for the kind reply and for not pointing out that you were not missing the whole ball nut, just the transfer tube! (I just took another look at your pics and realized that - I am a bit slow at times!) The SKF ball nuts I was referring to contain inserts rather than a transfer tube to move the balls back and while they are a perfect replacement in my autohelm 5000 linear drive, they aren't cheap. Sorry about not noticing that you were looking for the tube!
Regards,
Rob
