The audio output from the M802 is either via a headphone jack on the front panel of the control panel or via a speaker audio jack on the rear of the transceiver unit.

Plugging a headset into the audio jack on the control panel will NOT switch off the audio output to the remote speaker - you need to wire a separate switch (ON/OFF) into the remote speaker circuit cable.

To answer the question:
You will be able to hear someone calling you provided the remote speaker is not switched off, irrespective if a headset is plugged into the audio jack on the front of the control panel.

Not quite. You can switch the remote speaker on and off from the front panel of the radio. You do not need a separate switch.
