Best Marinas - FL Middle Keys?

We are transiting through and will likely hang in the middle keys for a month or so. Obviosly we are looking for quality of experience at the best rate possible.

Any thoughts?

many of the marinas on the page HyLyte posted will not be suitable for you and some are really not marinas. You did not say when you will be there. Several marinas especially in the middle keys have closed and several more have gone condo so there is a real shortage. During high season you might not be able to find a slip. The best deal are the moorings in Boot Key Harbor at the City of Marathon Marina. Both Marathon Marina (not the City Marina) and Sombrero Resort have been bought out and are now VERY expensive and the facilities at the former Marathon Marina is nothing more than a working boatyard. Dockside Marina has gone condo so for $250,000.00 you could own your own slip. They had been renting some slips for transients but don't know if that is still so. You can find nice slips at Bonefish Marina which is condo but does rent out some slips. It is way out of town though. Naturally you should not have a problem in Key West but bring all of your bank accounts. Hope this helps a bit.

Here’s some Anchorages in the Florida Keys:
Florida Sea Grant - Boating & Waterways - Anchorage Inventory

And:
Anchorages in South Florida

The “ Boot Key” website also has some useful info’:

That marinas.com is a great idea, but they have every little anchorage however terrible with VERY little info on them (like the fact they suck).

On Tavernier, just N of Plantation Cay, is Mangrove Marina, aka Tavernier Cay Club. Very friendly place. We were weathered in there last year, it is very convenient - short walk to supermarket, short walk to highway where you can flag down the bus to take you to West Marine. 1-305-852-8380
At low tide the water can be a bit thin. All facilities, water, fuel, pumpout. We highly recommend it.

We'll be in the area on Feb 12 / 13th and need a berth for 30 days or so.

Mike, That this of year if you don't have reservations it is very possible there will be no room at the inn.
