This one is worth a look as well:

Toshiba Camileo X-Sports review | Camcorders Reviews | TechRadar

But I think the GoPro is hard to beat.

Re: Best POV Camera These Days?

Without recommending a camera, I use a Bridge Panasonic for most of my video. That said I have a lot of cameras.
If I take pics or video on the boat or in the air, I use GoPro. 2 of them and batteries.
They just work for me.

I'd take a look at the accessories available for the two above. GoPro and Contour have a pretty wide array of accessories. Not sure on the Stealth or Toshiba.

The DJI Inspire looks awesome! Too bad it's over $3k!

Re: Best POV Camera These Days?

The reviews for the SJ4000 looked pretty good, Amazon had them for $69 so I ordered one. It uses the same mounts as the Gopro and it comes with a lot of accessories and mounts. I'm amazed at the price, especially for something with an LCD screen for previewing or playback!

I bought one.
I would love to tell you how wonderful it is only...... my sister wrapped it for Christmas as a present, to herself!

You might as well order another one for yourself, that one is gone!

LOL

I wouldn't mind having 4 or more cheap cameras on my sandrail. I know a guy who did an outstanding video and they used a couple of videographers, an RC quadcopter, a gopro on the nose looking forward, another on the nose aimed at the driver's helmet, another from the passenger side, another aimed at his feet catching the shifts, and one on the rear facing backwards, that one was looking at roosted sand and the ground, since he was in a wheelie about 50% of the time.

I ordered a cheap hubsan quad with video 1080 and it will be here in the next few days. YES.......... its not the best quality however, I have used a lot of them in the past and with careful editing and stabilisation, it is a PERFECTLY acceptable airshot video of boats and locations.*

About $60

* This is not shot with the 1080 camera. This is a 720HD. You can buy the camera and panel upgrade for the quad and install it for about $16. Its a small quad. Wind will knock it all over.
