C80 Raymarine with EM-Trak B951

I have a good C80 Raymarine Chart Plotter that is still doing wonders.

I've updated my AIS to an EM-Trak with NMEA 0183 output that I'd love to connect to the C80.

However, I don't have the original C80 NMEA 0183 output cable.

AIS has internal GPS
C80 is connected to external Raymarine GPS.
Radio is connected to AIS

If I can find an original C80 NMEA 0183 output cable and that I connect it to the AIS, would that work? They're about 10 meters apart so I'd need to use an extra NMEA 0183 cable.

1- Would any 10-meter-long NMEA cable would work or should I take some things into consideration?
2-I've read about some data baud? Should I be concerned about it?

Thanks!

Re: C80 Raymarine with EM-Trak B951

yes you just need the nmea 183 connector cable for the screen. the cable between is just any 2 wire twisted cable. there is no such thing as nmea 183 cable.

if it has really old software you'll need to update it. which will be the hard part finding a 32mb cf card. if you can change the serial baud rate to 38,400 in your menu then it'll work. if not it'll need a software update.
