Can't Download Raymarine Software

I have tried several times to download the latest software for my e125 MFD and the download fails after a few minutes. The package is nearly 1GB (which seems a bit rediculous) and will take a few hours to download. Can't get past 10 minutes or so. Anyone else having this problem?

Re: Can't Download Raymarine Software

Just downloaded v19.03 for eSeries, the reason the file is so large it
includes updates for all Ray products in the same file.
Suggest you get a solid wifi connection.

Re: Can't Download Raymarine Software

Jack,

How long did it take you to download it? Also did you download directly to an SD chip or to your hard drive. I was trying to download to the C: drive and then I would transfer to the SD card later. Maybe that was an issue. I noticed that Raymarine requires the SD card to be formatted to FAT32. Not sure what format my hard drive is in.

Thanks for the reply,

Wayne

Re: Can't Download Raymarine Software

Wayne,
Did not pay attention to time, guessing around 10 to 15 min
I download to hard dive then copy to SD card
I am the local RM guy (not officially) but help all my buddies
with their electronics. I do a lot of RM updates on various equip
and never had a problem downloading updates.
I really think you have a wifi issue

Good Luck

Re: Can't Download Raymarine Software

I have just downloaded v19 update onto a home PC. Took between 2 and 3 minutes with download speeds varying between 2 and 7MB/sec.

Could well be a wifi issue, as the last version (17) I downloaded took nearly an hour and failed a couple of times.

I did a broadband speed check and found I was getting nowhere near the download speeds I should have and complained to the service provider. They did a few tests, and then sent me a new router.

Re: Can't Download Raymarine Software

Folks,

I was able to download the update directly to the SD card this morning. Took about 15 to 20 minutes. Not sure what the issue was last night. Probably was a Wifi thing. Thanks for all the help.

Re: Can't Download Raymarine Software

Related question, I have a couple of e120 MFDs, master and slave configuration.

I don't think the RM SW has ever been updated (circa 2007).

Do the updates have to be stair stepped one at a time, or can I just grab the latest greatest; down load to the card and pop it in each one individually to perform the SW update?

These work great today, I don't want to goof these up in the process.

Aloha

Re: Can't Download Raymarine Software

You shold be able to download ad install the latest version.
Full instructons on the raymarine website. Take note of the size of the compact card to use. For your E120, I think max size of card is 128MB.
