Coax gps aerial

I think I'm on a hiding to nowhere with this but... as part of my extensive refurbishment of my Phantom 32i have installed mostly Raymarine electronics. I mounted the the ga150 gps unit on the solar arch, ran the wiring, drilled more holes then went to connect to chart plotter in the pod, discovering the coax connect didn't fit my Element s7 display. Neither can I seem to connect to the nmea network. The Chart plotter has its own gps but it sometimes loses the satellite.

Any ideas. I run opencpn on a laptop down below.

Just wish I hadn't wasted a morning and disfigured the boat

Re: Coax gps aerial

Coax gps antennas were common 10-15 years ago... now we use GPS receivers instead Which will be nmea 2000 now. Nmea 183 or seatalk before. .

It could go to an ais if you have one. Otherwise probably useless. Not many things use gps antennas anymore.

If you need better gps to your plotter you’ll need to buy a nmea 2000 gps receiver.
