DataMarine sender to Raymarine head

I have an old datamarine depth sounder transducer that reads out to a Datamarine head that is the same size as the newer Raymarine 60+ heads. The display in the datamarine head has faded to where it is barely readable.

1. Is there an adjustment to increase the contrast on the old datamarine units. It is as if there is no contrast.

2. If I have to replace, will I be able to use the old datamarine transducer to the new Raymarine ST 50 or 60 head, or will I have to install a new transducer as well. I saw a post from 2015 that said someone used a Raymarine bidata 50 and it worked. There isn't any label or markings on the Datamarine transducer.

Suggestions? I guess I can just order an ST 50 or 60, hook it up, and see if it works. (Would rather save for new AIS and Radar)

Re: DataMarine sender to Raymarine head

I think the data marine system was a odd ball freq. not 200. it may work, but maybe not as good as you'd be firing the transduer at a different freq then designed.
