And if you are thinking of those in-hull depth sounders… I thought of it then dismissed it. The hull is quite thick and I’ve heard they don’t work so well with thick hulls.

But cutting holes in a solid hull is child's play, and so no material risk from having two of them.

I would opt for separate transducers for speed and depth. I would mount in the forward section on either side of centerline. That's what I did on my Cal 2-27. Worked great. Not worried about 2 more holes as long as they are done correctly. I also recommend a backing block with sealant sandwiched in between.

If you bought the newest DST810 is provides calibration options the older ones didn't. It has an attitude sensor in it and Bluetooth to connect to it for the calibration options. However, I've not used one so no idea how good those options are. I may replace my DST800 with one if the boat kitty allows for it.
