Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

I just reprogrammed the Uniden that came with my new old boat It kept going back to the old MMSI until I hit the Select button a second time after selecting the last number. It pans through all the new numbers without a hitch. Turned it off and back on to verify. All is good.

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Did anyone ever come up with a way to re-program mmsi in an older SH radio (GX1270) other than the trip to CA? Talked to SH tech the other day and he said "...send it to us, will cost you $50 US plus shipping but no guarantee we can fix..." WHAT A DEAL!!

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

I bought a used Emtrak from the UK.
The company sent me a file via email that I loaded onto the micro SD card in the unit and when it powered up it automatically input the updated date the company programmed. I then entered more info via usb cable. Very easy and they charged me nothing. I recommend them absolutely.

To reinitialize the MSMS No for Camino 108, follow the steps below:
1. Execute the “AIS class B Configuration Utility” and connect it to your class B transponders.
Click continuously on the “MMSI” for at least 3 seconds
2. A pop-up window will appear. Input the activation code 2367 in the red marked area and
then press “Active”.
3. The MMSI No is reset and now you can configure the new MMSI No. After entering the new
MMSI, click on “Config Device” to save the new setting.
Doesn't work for me. Get to stage 2 and old mmsi disappears but the Transponder disconnects and when I reconnect the old mmsi is back.

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Does anyone have information or instructions for resetting MMSI on B&G Simrad NAIS 500? I've called local dealers but none seem to be willing and/or able to help me with the reset. Moving from domestic US MMSI to international.
From lots of web searching, I have found references to AIS resetter software and other things, but none clearly state they work with NAIS 500.
My plan is to keep trying dealers by broadening my dealer search radius - have not yet called Navico customer service yet.
Thanks for any tips.
Jeff

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

Try combinations of button pushing. Find tge original number in the radio My number is displayed with the digiits flashing one at a time in sequence.
The programming is similar. Enter one digit at a time, it never shows the 9 digits together, just one at a time. When finished entering hit select then it scrolls quickly through the 9 digits so you can verify them. I wouldn't be surprised if most radios have a manual input available. Just like my CPAP machine that supposedly only the doctor can program. Ha! Just takes patience.
Good luck

I need to reset the MMSI on my new-to-me Raymarine AIS650. I was told it would take 6 weeks!
I would appreciate software.

Guys, why don't you just use search function? No offense, but this is a public and easily findable thread https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...on-231707.html

Yeah.... but if ProAIS2 is the configuration and diagnostic software for AIS650 & AIS700, most likely other tools should be compatible Manuals and firmware update could be downloaded directly from Raymarine site https://www.raymarine.eu/service-and...is/ais700.html Hope it helps to save few banknotes of your reserve currency

Re: DIY MMSI (re)programming

I realize that this thread is a few years old, but I'm desperate. I stupidly forgot to enter in the MMSI on a Simrad RS40(the next gen after RS35) when installing my new unit. Of course there is no option on how to enter it now that I can see in the manual or radio menu. I'm able to get to the password screen similar to the RS35 but the password 7100 doesn't work on the RS40. I'm hoping that someone can help on here, because multiple calls to Simrad's tech support line have just been spent on hold for hours with no answer. I can't even find out a dealer that could do this if I wanted to. Thanks in advance...
