Fishfinder Transducers

I'm replacing my ancient B&G Zeus plotters, which have given me 11 years of decent service, with Zeus 3S. I've been having trouble with my 4G radar and instead of faffing with that I decided to just replace the whole lot since it's high time anyway. I can't live without radar, and I'll be cruising Norway and Shetland Islands this summer where I REALLY can't live without radar.

I have long wanted to have some imaging of the bottom, for use in anchorages in wild places, and have long envied fishermen with their fancy side scan and other kinds of sonar systems. The new Zeus has a built-in sonar with both Navico blue and black connectors, but -- typically -- Navico make is really difficult to understand which transducers are compatible and what they even do. CHIRP? StructureScan? DownScan? What does it all mean? Maybe there is someone on here -- a fisherman, maybe? -- who has some knowledge to share.

My choice will be limited I guess by the fact that i have a 2" hole to work with.

This seems to be a good resource: CHIRP | Transducers

According to this, there is only one choice with the right hole size:

B150. Single band CHIRP, medium frequency. Available with Lowrance 7 pin blue plug.

There's also the Airmar P319, available as "X-Sonic", which I think is the connector (the Navico Black?). Does not appear to be CHIRP, however.

Are there any other options? I have found it incredibly difficult to get clear information.

Dash me with amorous wet . . . . I can repay you."
