Fluxgate compass calibration

I installed a new raymarine x5 wheel pilot with the included fluxgate compass, and the pilot is tied through nema to my garmin plotter. Everything works and the pilot does hold a true course but the boat icon displayed on the plotter does not move in the direction it is pointed.
If I set a way point at a marker 1 mile away, the boat will go directly at the mark but the icon and the line that projects from the icon showing heading shows that I will miss the mark by a substatinal amount.
When the pilot is powered down it works normaly.
The pilot display shows the same compass heading that I am seeing on my gps and is close to ( 5-10 degrees) to what I see on the real compass.
I have tried moving the flux gate and there was no change. There is a adjust heading setting for the poilt but i have moved it 20 Degrees in either direction and have not noticed any change. Any ideas?
Thanks
brad

Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you gone through the full commissioning process for the new pilot? Particularly; swung the compass and aligned the compass to the boat

Re: Fluxgate compass calibration

I did swing the compass twice and do the auto learn, The deviation came back at 4 degress both times. As for alinging the compass my autopilot shows the same heading as the plotter, but thinking about it the plotter is likely gettting a heading from the fluxgate.

Re: Fluxgate compass calibration

A 4 degree deviation is a good number, so there must be a an issue with the integration with the plotter. Raymarine has a cople of FAQs on this very subject that may be helpful.
