The registration link is up at https://www.davidwaltersyachts.com/sailing-events . Registration is free. They will email you a link to Zoom for the webinar. The presentation will be recorded and posted to YouTube within a few days. When that video is up I'll post a link here.

Everything is ready to go. If anyone has particular questions they'd like addressed you can post those here.

Registered, but I think someone mixed up the time formats on the site and confirmation email.

Thanks for letting me know. Can you tell me what you saw? I'll pass it along to David Walters and get it fixed.

True for me too. Dave, please clarify whether the time is 2-4 pm EDT or 4-6 pm EDT. Thanks! (from Rick in Swarthmore)

Thank you all for the feedback. I have 2p-4p (1400 - 1600) US ET but I'll check with our host Josh to make sure nothing has changed.

I joined, but very unlikely that I will watch it live (4am in Perth....).
I'd be interested in instrument integration with Pi3, if you know about it.

Looking forward to the recording.

Thank you!

I'm going to be about 30,000 feet above that question but I'm happy to help. Once the YouTube video is posted and you have a chance to watch it we'll have a common vocabulary and I can help you faster.

What do you plan to run on the PI3? OpenCPN? Do you have existing instruments or are you shopping?

For Pi options you could try a look at signalk - Signal K ยป Welcome
And Openplotter - https://openplotter.readthedocs.io/e...enplotter.html
In short, Openplotter is a downloadable operating system designed for marine use on the raspberry pi, it includes signalk. Signalk is like NMEA might be like in a few hundred years if it ever grows up
With a serial/usb adaptor it's easy to get the older nmea0183 into the computer or using a CAN/usb adapter for NMEA2K. Then many options to view, save to a database etc. Other options available for non NMEA data, though might mean some electronics to convert older analog data into digital and send over wifi. Probably quite far removed from what the live talk will be about, might be better to start a new thread about it rather than drift this one, well worth investigating though, it's an extremely powerful system .
