Furuno Doppler Plus Timezero Pro?

I am looking at a new DRS4DNXT Doppler radar scanner to replace my aging Furuno 4KW LCD stand-alone unit.

I will connect to my Time Zero Professional via ethernet cable (and a hub). No MFD to be used, because A: Budget and B: Timezero charting options. That gives a great radar overlay for the price.

Anybody with experience using PC radar? How did you like the "soft controls"- on screen versus physical knobs and switches? Did you run dual displays with a smaller waterproof touch display in the cockpit? That is what I have in mind...
