That works as well, but I use Parallels, and a Windows 7 VM.

There was one tricky part: MaxSea wants to see a real network adapter for the Navnet connection, while the virtual machine gets a virtual adapter by default. I changed the network adapter to "bridged" IIRC and it started working immediately.

Well, I think it's better too, but can't be sure as I never had the Furuno one. When you want to connect things like the Furuno sonar you may need the Furuno to switch power, possibly. I would go far to use the industrial switch instead of the Furuno unit.
