Galvanic isolator install

Greetings-I'm installing a second 30amp inlet and breaker panel. The original 30amp inlet has a galvanic isolator installed, but in a very difficult to access part of the boat. I have a galvanic isolator for the second line that can be used for one line or dual 30 amp lines. My question is, is there any reason I can't use the new isolator for both lines, while at the same time leaving the original isolator installed? The first line would effectively have two isolators in series(if the original still works?). I'm not sure what brand the original isolator is, but it cost $225 9 years ago. The isolator for the second line is a Yandina.
Thanks for any info, Jim

I would put the new one on the new line and leave the old line. or remove the old one.

Re: Galvanic isolator install

Yes, you can do that. If the old one is functional you will have double isolation.

In fact for Aluminum boats and boats in aggressive locations we sell a double isolator with 2.5 volts of isolation.

Re: Galvanic isolator install

If you are installing the new isolator further away from the AC power connectors than the original isolator, just make sure that it gets inserted into the ground circuit before the AC and DC grounds get connected together.
