Garmin 2010c VS 3010c

I am planning to buy a used Gamin 3010C chartplotter that comes without anything except the cover.
Since I am thinking of replacing my Garmin 2010c with this (to be able to get AIS etc), my question is if the harness to 2010c is the same as for the 3010c?
On pictures they look the same and I guess they should be, but before buying I would like to know for sure.
Anyone out there know about this?

Which specific harness the 0183 one is the same from my memory. Both manuals are online a simple perusal will confirm.

The 3010c is effectively obsolete now. I'd suggest a 700 series or a 4000 series.

Re: Garmin 2010c VS 3010c

The reason I want to get the 3010C is that I have all the charts for Europe for my 2010c, and 3010c uses the same card, so it's mainly about echonomy.
Of course the updating issue can be a problem, but I also have paper charts and a laptop with MaxSea updated, so I feel safe enough.

The same actually I went from 2010c to3010c but now have a 6008

You know there's no updates of the datacards charts now. ( non g2)

True, and that is why I also use tha MaxSea as extra reference in doubtful places.
The hard parts (land and ground) are usually on the same place, so it's mainly the sea marks that needs extra attention, and that's when MaxSea comes in handy.

...and if I had the money, a new plotter with complete charts would do just fine.
Waiting for the lottery win is no option, since I don't do lottery.

Re: Garmin 2010c VS 3010c

Hi Tolly, if you have decided to upgrade - would you consider selling your 2010c?
If yes, could you give me an indication on price?

Thanks
Alex

Re: Garmin 2010c VS 3010c

Hi Alex!
Yes I have upgraded and as soon as I have checked that the "new" 3010C is working as it should, I might sell the 2010C. About price I don't know yet, but the more important question is where you are. Shipping costs can be very interesting.

Re: Garmin 2010c VS 3010c

Hi Rolf,

Thanks for your reply, agreed, shipping can be an issue - I live in the UK, it seems you are in Sweden, so this could be feasible. Please let me know when you are ready to discuss a sale, should you choose to sell.
