Garmin chart updates - version 2020.50

Hello there -


We have a Garmin Chartplotter 7612 with CA-Mexico charts version 2019.



I'm wondering what changes were made with the latest chart update, version 2020.50, as the update costs $175. So before we invest, we'd like to get a better understanding of the what.


Anyone here know what the updates are between 2019 v 2020?

It’s the big change from g2 charts to g3 charts with navionics data.

And the .50 is the new release of g3 charts that just came out last week.

Smac. Do you know which revision “jump” represents the G2 vs G3 change?

Is it 2019.50 —> 2020.00 ? Same for all worldwide maps?

Thank you! Downloading the update now. Crossing fingers that we have a bit more consistency in map view compared to eyeball view. We have anchored a number of times "on land"
