Garmin has died long live garmin !

Having had a Garmin 250c fishfinder mounted on my last 2 boats after 15 or so years it has finaly died. I have been very impressed with this piece of kit. On my current boat I had to mount it as a back up to my not very reliable Raymarine ST70 setup. Its nice to find a simple reasonably priced unit that has given zero problems for so long. I think the reason it has died now is I panel mounted it and may well have covered the breather. The display was getting hard to see but the best thing we used to use this thing for was knowing the type of bottom we were mooring in. The wife used to call it a fish fiber but we never used it for fishing. Good on you Garmin keep up the good work..

Re: Garmin has died long live garmin !

We have a handheld Garmin GPS 72 that we have been using since 2002 with zero problems. We just bought a Garmin GPSMap 78SC for the increased functionality and color display, but the old one still works great and will serve as backup. For the price and reliability you can't beat them.
