That's a very handy thing to have. I've been looking at Fi for a while now. If they offer a 2nd SIM suitable for a data connection on the SAME plan, that clinches the deal!
No, it's a regular thing. All you do is ask on line and they send it to you. I haven't had a chance to check it out in a foreign country but in Florida it works very well and data speed is great. I was Skyping while cruising up the ICW without a hitch. Fi will also pick out the best carrier for where you are so less chance of dead zones.

Hey, Duane. Google Fi worked great in the Berries. Had service almost everywhere. Mid-cays, we lost it, but then picked it up from Chub Cay again, I think.

Re: Google Fi Phone

Hey guys, great discussion! I'm looking to get google fi, but I was wondering in general how close to shore you would need to be roughly to pick up a good enough signal for email with a cell booster? can you be 1-2 miles off shore and still get a decent signal? 5,10 miles offshore? Thanks for any input!

With a Shakespeare booster, I can still get a signal up to 12 miles off shore. Usually can't receive calls, but texts and messaging works fine.
