Honda bf20 no crank, no tilt scenario help!

I’ve have a 20hp that won’t crank or tilt, I've 13V at the starter solenoid, and trim capacitor, all connections at the remote are fine. Also I have 13 V at the fuse. Can somebody please enlighten me on the basic thing that I am obviously overlooking 😁😁😁
TIA

Kill switch?

Assuming you have an electric tilt. The tilt may be due to the hydraulic pump for your tilt might be clogged or just stuck. You should have a manual release valve that you can open and bring the motor down. This should clear what ever is preventing the motor from moving. Once you are down try raising it again with the tilt switch.

Thanks for the response, both the starter and the tilt work if jumped.
Pretty sure not the kill switch as the tilt switch has the same issue. But I’ll double check that.
Thanks!

There’s a couple push/pull plugs under the pull start handle, (bad connections) also with older motors the wiring loom (wires) soften from the constant exposure to heat especially in hotter climates sometimes needs replacing.

Thanks Bunji,
I’ll try and find a wiring diagram for the leads on those.
That would make a lot of sense, as I have tested nearly
Everything else

You said it starts or tilts when jumped so how are you jumping and where are you making the jump connections? Are you connecting directly to the starter? Again, assuming this is an electric start motor.

I have a Yamaha, but I think the theory of operation is the same for any outboard.

Don’t know your motor

Kill switch ?

Worth a look

Throttle position sensor Worth a look

Tilt sensor up down Worth looking at

Many motor functions are fuse protected

I'd give sailmonkey's suggestion some thought.

If you jump the starting solenoid, can you get it to crank? It might be a bad solenoid. However, I wouldn't expect a starting solenoid to impact trim. if both the starter motor and the trim pump work when jumped directly, then you have a DC electrical problem somewhere in the circuit.

Solved!!
Shrew, you are correct. Somebody put a 6 gauge butt connector buried mid bundle half way to the motor. Thanks everybody for your input.
Cheers
