Re: how do you compensate your depth gauge readings

I lean towards the true water depth.
I know the boat needs 3.5 feet
And you can set an alarm which will remind you your keel is about to ground which to me is like setting your depth to measure from the keel to sea bottom.
Just need to figure out now how much further down the sounder is inside the hull.
