How to Set Up AIS System

Hi
I have a Raymarine C70 chartplotter and a Navman 7300 VHF aboard my recently purchased Australian registered yacht "Forever" which is currently in Alacati in Turkey .The AIS system is not set up in the boat, and also I am completely unfamiliar with AIS as I have never used it before.
Can anybody please advise me how to set up AIS on my boat please?
Thanks...

Check you have latest firmware on the C70 (v 4.29).

Set NMEA input on C70 to AIS 38,400 baud.

Connect AIS output on Navman (assume it has built in AIS receiver) to NMEA input on C70.

Turn on AIS layer on C70 & customise AIS settings to your liking.

The above advice assumes you don't have anything connected already to C70 NMEA input. If so you may need a NMEA multiplexer that works with 4,800 & 38,400 baud to combine the original NMEA data with the new higher speed AIS data.
