Hi

Own a ICOM706 MK2G SSB radio. My display is getting black slowly. Unfortunately the radio is out of production and they told me that there are no spare parts anymore. Can someone help me out?

Post to appropriate forums on QRZ.com and eham.net. Someone might have one they have parted out.

I've seen that radio parted out on ebay. You might be able to find a replacement screen there too.

Mine works just fine, hardly used though. If you made me the right offer, your whole rig could be parts!

Re: Icom 706 MK2G

Oh gosh, it's in a box where it's been for 4 years and it was purchased three years before that. I know it's in the closet with tons of stuff..LOL

I used it in the house with a 3 amp inverter, so for 2 meters mostly. I did use it at field day on HF and did very well with it, that's when I was really amazed with such a small rig putting out 100 W.

I'm really not active and I have 2 HTs for UHF that I use when I do get on. It's just been sitting and I kept it thinking I would use it for a mobile or put it in a boat, but haven't yet.

If you're serious drop me a PM and we can get on the landline (or cell, lol). It's in very good condition and I have no idea what it's worth now.
