Icom 820 and b&g v60b

I have an icom 820 and was looking in to adding an aisle rec/transmit unit. So if I eliminate the 820 the only thing I am loose will be the ssb and the distress transmittal.

Please need some light. Should I keep the 820 and ad the v60b?

I am planning to sail from jax to Puerto Rico. So Ais capability will be very helpful.

Thanks
Chuckp
