Icom hf

Hi all installed correctly and recieve grib files and can do emails but no voice going out and very little in any ideas could it be something simple like the microphone ?? Thnx peter

Yes, it could be a bad microphone. I know of one sailor who had his Icom mic go bad -- it's certainly possible. I had a VHF mic go silent, while all other mic functions and controls were fine. Figuring out what was wrong was a bit of a wild goose chase for a while.

On the other hand it could be something else.

Yes will have to dig further, its a pain i thought it could have been my rope antenna but the general concensus is that if iam doing emails and grib files i should be able to yodel as well pac crossing soon so will have some testimg to do

Ditto on the bad microphone. Buying a second one may be the "cheap repair". If it is not, well, you have a spare mic. I always keep a spare mic just in case.
