Interoperability

Seeking advice and comments here.

I have a rather old but functioning Standard Horizon CP170 which is a basic GPS plotter. When my Vigil radar died I put a Raymarin C80 with an active antenna a a 2kw radar... and fed NASA AIS data. The latter stopped working and I need to figure out what's up with that...

BUT.... now the C80 is acting like it's fixing to die doing all manner of weird things with the GPS. I've bought a new 135 antenna but haven't done the install because the old antenna has decided to work and I can trick the C80 to get a fix by restarting the GPS.

So I am thinking... B&G has a nice new 7" Zeus which could replace the old Standard Horizon and it's 900 and change with a GPS antenna.

I revert the C80 to a radar...but supply GPS from the B&G Zeus... I need to figure out how to do that... but I imagine the existing seatalk and multiplexer might work... But I don't know if the C80 will perform with GPS data that does not come from a Raymarine antenna... I need the GPS fix for proper radar overlay on the chart.

The C80 is repeating to B&G cockpit repeaters so that's another reason that the C-80 needs GPS data... I would like to avoid getting and installing a new radar.

Does the above make sense? Clearly installing the ray 130 GPS would work... but leave the old Horizon in place... But if I keep the C80 O keep a nice larger display... the existing radar... and with the Zeus I get some new features...

Thanks for your suggestions.... and comments
