Ipad link E125 Raymarine Chart Plotter

We are having a devil of a time getting the Ipad to talk to Raymarine Chart plotter. Does anyone have advice?

Thanks,

Marsha

I don't think it can be done with the Ray app, as the older "E" series does not have bluetooth or wifi. You need the "e" series or later. Perhaps you could go NMEA 183 to wifi, but that's above my pay grade.

Re: Ipad link E125 Raymarine Chart Plotter

I had no problem connecting any of our Android phones or tablets to our Raymarine e125. As TheOffice noted, the Classic E series didn't support WiFi, but since there was no E125, I assume you meant the newer e125.

Make sure your e125 is running the latest version of software, and make sure you're inputting the wifi passphrase properly. What app are you using on the iPad - one of the Raymarine ones?

I am using RayControl. Gives me a weird message about Your MFD's WiFi network is switched on. I also have RayView which says the same thing. The Raymarine is 2014 and 11.1 version.

Re: Ipad link E125 Raymarine Chart Plotter

Sorry for the late response. Lighthouse v11.xx is very old in internet years (it's from 2016). There was an update back in September 2015 (v15.59) which had major WiFi enhancements. I'd upgrade to at least that version, if not the most current version (v16.47 from March).

And I'd make sure your iPad is running the most current version of iOS, and the most current version of RayControl.

You're sure you've set the iPad's wifi to connect to the MFD's WiFi SSID (defaults to some version of your MFD's serial #) before you launch the app?
