Iridium Mail and Web connection issues IOS

Apparently the most recent update to IMW for IOS, version 3.0.2, renders your i-thingy unable to connect to Iridium for email. Iridium does not seem to be in a rush to correct this. Just a heads up, if you are using and Ipad or Iphone with Iridium, do not let it auto update to version 3.0.2. There does not seem to be a similar issue with the Android verstion of the app.

Re: Iridium Mail and Web connection issues IOS

I found that the iOS apps to be worse than the android versions. Fortunately on my last crossing I had both. I tended to use iOS for email, and Android for messaging. Both apps are poor in gerneral terms when compared to practically any other messaging/connectivity apps on the market, but that's Iridium for you.

Easy enough to pick up an Android device for $20-50 to dedicate to this usage

Re: Iridium Mail and Web connection issues IOS

There was a subtle clue to what the problem is in the APP update listing. It says "Updated for compatibility with iOS13.3."

Sure enough, on my older iPAD running 12.4, it doesn't work.

On my newer iPhone running 13.3 it works just fine.

I assume that anyone running 12.x or older is doing so because they can't upgrade (like my iPAD Air), or have a good reason not to (it interferes with their tinfoil hat).

Looks like Iridium left us in the dirt either on purpose, or with poor quality control or a bit of both...

They have now released a fix which seems to work. In general the QC on their software releases is quite poor.
