Send a message via Skype™ to Pblais
Go to the FCC web site and fill out a form 605. It allows you to set up SSB, International VHF, and EPIRB in one form. You can do it all on line and even pay with a credit card. Once you pay you can update information free.

Strictly speaking , there are two licences.

One to have the SSB onboard.

One to operate it on Marine frequencies.

In Uk if you want to use Ham frequencies as well, you need a separate radio (that is the rule!) additional equipment licence and additional operating licence. A Radio Ham can get into serious trouble operating Ham frequencies with someone who is not a licenced Ham.

Read this first to avoid a lot of grief--the FCC charges you for your mistakes, and the form is very confusing
