Mast head refurb

Hi I am rerigging my mast and intend to fit the following on the head mast.

VHF antenna Shakespeare 5215
AIS Antenna Shakespeare 5215-AIS
TV/ radio Antenna Anten The00331
Mobile broadband antenna
Mast head Light Hella
Nasa Wireless Nasa Clipper Wind Speed & Direction System
Manual wind indicator Windex

Reading all the literature the VHF and AIS should not be on the same plane with in 1200mm. So I thought the AIS could be fitted upside down under the top spreader which is around 900mm long . Has anybody done that and would the side stay and mast interfere with the signal to much?
Also any thoughts on configuration?

Re: Mast head refurb

The radio signal does not care what orientation the antenna is in. I have seen hundreds of vhf, ais, and 900mhz industrial antennas mounted upside down. Most of the time it is done for the same reason you are referring to.

I however have had great success with a Vesper AIS/VHF antenna. I've been using one for over a year and have no complaints. I can see class B AIS targets 8 miles away and class A 14 miles away. My VHF signal is just as good as it was before. Plus I didn't have to run two coax cables up the mast.

The mast will affect the signal of the antenna on the spreader but it's hard to say how much.
