Mystery electronics

I've been on the boat for a year now and still don't know what this is. It's mounted next to my radar, but it doesn't show up in the radar's installation instructions. Anyone know off hand what this might be?

Re: Mystery electronics

Yeah maybe GPS. But could also be some kind of cellular repeater. Is there any mystery electronics inside the boat? Have you followed that wire? How have you been on the boat a year and not tried to figure that out

Re: Mystery electronics

Yah, I thought about GPS, but…
I already have a GPS receiver mounted nearby. Also, there's less than 3 inches between that thing and the radar. If I understand it right, that would be the worst place to mount a GPS. Not to say the previous owner wouldn't have done that.

Re: Mystery electronics

Well, what ever it is, the person(s) who put it in the near field of the radar wasn't very bright.
