NAIS 500

I’ve got the NAIS 500 installed.
It’s supposed to send it’s transmissions through the dedicated NGPS-500 unit.
Since it has been up and running (4 months so far) there has been problems:
- stopped transmitting entirely
- or randomly transmitting after reset
- changing vessel size

The longest consecutive time it worked without problems were two weeks.

Anyone else having similar issues?
May it be wise to install a stand alone AIS unit?

Intermitant transmission could be gps signal or vhf antenna.

Have you plugged a laptop in to check swr level and gps status?

Mine had a intermittent faulty GPS antenna. From the manual

The NAIS-500 is a stand-alone unit. Where is the GPS-500 mounted? Could be an issue if up high.
