Navico/B&G spare parts.

I have a 4g radar which due to my circumstances was not used for the first 3 years after purchase from Defender, so is out of warranty.
When I finally started using it it ran for a total of approx four hours over a couple of days then failed. Probably typical "infant mortality"
Called in my local B&G dealer (in Malaysia) who visited the boat and confirmed it was the radar that had failed.
We then disassembled it and found it to be in excellent condition mechanically and only a slight smell of escaped smoke around the one main PCB with no visible damage.
Does anybody know if it is possible to purchase the main PCB from Navico?
I have emailed them but have had no response. The very helpful dealer in Malaysia says they get no response either!
I understand the radar was designed in New Zealand. Does anybody have a contact with Navico there?
Best
Chris

Re: Navico/B&G spare parts.

I have both a brand new B&G radar and B&G vhf that were dead on arrival too. Like you, I installed it the first time when outside the warranty period and I'm stuck with these paperweights. Amazing that they sell stuff with this high of a failure rate!

Emails to Navico always go unanswered.... you must call their US phone number to get any response.

Good Luck!

Matt

Re: Navico/B&G spare parts.

Thanks Matt, Trouble is it's to big to use as a paperweight!
