NavTExt or Weatherman in Greece ?

I'm going shopping in the UK next weekend for boat stuff and I am wondering if it is worth getting a navtext or weatherman for island hopping around Greece?

When I was sailing in Greece in October the charter yacht had a Navtext but I never figured out how to use it, so I really don't have a clue how valuable they are.

Compared with many other electronic toys they are quite inexpensive but I wonder if it is best just saving the money and pick up a Greek prepaid sim for getting weather forecasts over 3g when I'm not in a marina or town with wifi and remembering to listen in over the VHF for any warnings etc?

Hi !
I have a Navtex (Furuno) onboard and it works quite well in Greece, I appreciate it since 2001... But, you are right, mostly if you intend to sail daily : internet access is quite everywhere by wifi and if not, you can use your mobile phone with a Greek sim card and get weather forecast too.
When i sail for one day, from an island to another one, I use to get forecasts either with my MacBook or my iPhone. This is a very good address for weather in the Aegean seas
