Need Type 300 12vdc Autohelm Course Computer

Help !! We lost our course computer to lightning and cannot get it repaired anywhere. We have a ST6000 Autohelm with a linear drive and Type 300 12V computer.

I am told we can buy a new "corepack" from Raymarine, but this is over $2000.

If anyone has a spare they would sell or has any idea where i could get this repaired, let me know.

We got struck by lightning while in the Dry Tortugas last year and lost all our electronics, so i feel your pain.

you can send it back to Raymarine and they will fix it for a flat fee. I think it was like $500. they really gave me a whole new board and used my housing sp it was like a new unit.

I have the same Core Pack 300 course computer and a local technician cannot fix it. Is it worth sending back to Raymarine? How much did they charge you? I am live-abord in Cartagena. Colombia which complictes things.

these type 300 core pack units that are "new" ex-autohelm stock often come up on ebay in the uk they sell for around £250.

there must have been a container full that went "missing" when autohelm was taken over by raymarine!

I am stuck in Colombia until I find a core pack 300. It seems my only option at this point is to return it to Raymarine factory. God knows what that is going to cost. There are none currently on E-bay.

I have a pretty smart German technician here and he said there are four transistors and one gets hot when the unit is powered up.
