NMEA Wind Transducer to Simnet Newtork

Hi All, I was dismasted at the end of last season and had to fit a new rig and all that goes with it - including a new Simrad wind transducer. The new transducer has a nmea2000 connection. I have a simnet network onboard so I bought an adapter cable (40 euros) and fitted it. However, it is not picking up any signal. I thought it would be plug and play but I am now worried I have a bigger issue RE: compatability of the new wind unit. Have you any advice? Thanks.
