Yes you are correct. The S100 will work with any of the SeaTalk 1 or SeaTalk NG(with a converter) autopilots. It is also a straight forward installation.

The SmartController version will allow you to see your instruments as well on the remote.

I have a st6001 auto pilot and the smart controller by raymarine. works great.. Put it on a lanyard around neck and underarm. When singlehanded I wear it all the time. Works great.

I have been following this post with interest. My autopilot is seriously old, a Pinta autohelm beieved to be fitted from new to my 1965 Van Lent steel TSMY.
It has worked well in the past in calm seas but has now gone haywire. Some kind seafarers have sent me scans of instruction manuals but the control head ( compass?) of mine differs to those illustrated. Has anyone experience of repairing these units or converting to function with modern GPS units?
