power wiring for charplotter

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I am replacing my Garmin 148 GPS Map with a Raymarine C70 and was wondering if the power connections are standardized? i.e. will I be able to just re-use the existing power wiring & connector or will I have to splice/rewire the connector to plug in the C70?

Thanks

Generally the smaller stuff has proprietary connectors and the larger electronics you connect by crimping on some ring terminals to a terminal block. The power is run to the same terminal block. What you need to make sure of is if the current draw from your new unit is not more than the wire is gauged for. You may need to run larger diameter wire to accommodate the greater power draw.
