Quark AIS A022

Have recently purchased one of these to go 'laptop navigation and plotting'. Has anybody got any idea how to get a Windows 10 o/s to recognise and accept it. Usual two error codes of 10 and 28. Have tried drivers disc, online drivers, all the suggestions from Quark, etc etc. Device is receiving as the green led flashes, just won,t communicate on Windows 10

Not the A022, but I purchased the A024.

The A024 claims to provide AIS with an NMEA0183 muxer and wifi. So I thought I'd kill a couple of birds with one stone and have both AIS plus my NMEA nav data available wirelessly.

Whilst the AIS worked fine from the get-go, the NMEA did not. Turns out they had configured it for 9600 baud, despite the NMEA 0183 standard clearly stating 4800, which is hence the default for small-craft gear.

Long story short, after a return (which cost me postage from Oz to the UK) for them to reconfigure it to 4800, the NMEA still didn't work. I returned it again (another $28 postage) asking them to make it work or refund if they couldn't. No response for well a over a month, and eventually I lost patience and they have refunded me.

But get this: I paid AU$122 for it and was credited AU$96, so this unhappy experience has left me a total of $82 out of pocket!

Was it a good experience? I'll leave that to you to infer.
