Ray Marine Auto Pilot - Fix or Replace?

Should I fix my SPX30 Computer for $1k or upgrade? Are there any potential issues with upgrading...ie: will the plotter , etc need to be upgraded also.
The upgrade computer would be around $2000 (The evolution)

How timely....

I just bought a SPX30 in need of repair. I am assuming that the output fets are blown but who knows.

I have an existing SPX30 on my boat so should I get the blown one fixed it will be a spare.

You going to send your spx out for repair or give it a go yourself? (of course given the $1k you would be sending it out)
