Raymarine AIS700+Ray90+ axiom pro 9 eS

So I installed a new Raymarine AIS700+Ray90 (radio) + axiom pro 9 eS MFD but my MDF does not recognize the AIS700 and the screen reeds

External AIS unit fault: Antenna fault

My GPS + VHF+ radar all work well and display data, could this still be antenna ?
Any solutions are appreciated

You sure the AIS700 is wired up correctly? Are you using a single antenna and the splitter for both VHF and AIS or separate antennas one for AIS and one for VHF?

Hi, the same antenna, the AIS700 has a built in splitter and the MMSI number has been entered into the VHF (Ray90) correctly.

Just to cover the very obvious you are sure the antenna is wired up correctly not reverse on the VHF connections on the AIS700?

When looking at the AIS700 with the Raymarine right side up the vhf connect on the left should go to the antenna and the one of the right should go to the radio.

Other than that as long as the AIS has power (which I presume it does since you are getting an error message) there isn't a whole lot to the install.

Yes, I believe so, the data on screen shows AIS targets (boats) but not my AIS data. I think the issue is not being able to figure out how to enter the MMSI number into the MFD (axiom pro 9 eS)

Is there an external GPS antenna connected to the AIS700? Have you connected ProAIS2 and had a look at diagnostics?

Yes, new antenna new cable plugged into the AIS700 same location as the antenna before it.

The screen on the MFD is reading:

Warning
External AIS unit:
Antenna VSWR fault

Well a high VSWR is indicating a mismatch at the required frequency range between the transmitter power and the antenna.

What is the antenna?

The GPS antenna is Raymarine it came with the AIS700 and the VHF is from the Raymarine vhf that is replaced with the RAY90. I think that the GPS antenna needs to be higher off the deck, I think it needs to be in a better location.

I mean the VHF antenna. The error is related to the VHF antenna. I don't think your AIS is transmitted due to the excessively high VSWR.

Same issue, you can't program your MMSI with the MFD. You have to use the AisPro2 software. It's also against FCC regulations to program it yourself in the US.. but the software is available on the Raymarine UK website, wink wink. The AIS will not transmit or relay if it's not programmed. It deactivates the transmit till it is done.
