Raymarine Axiom and Autopilot

I just have to say how impressed I am with these toys.

I am almost glad that my Raymarine auto helm unit, the P 70 or whatever, I needed an upgrade which required me to buy the axiom display.

Now? without buying anything else I have been able to control/steer the boat with my phone and sit outside and enjoy the weather a little bit.

The whole system really works nicely together.

really glad I took the time to use copper lines like the instructions said to do. Everything is so tight and dialed in. Really enjoying the steering system.

Re: Raymarine Axiom and Autopilot

I have a Ray Marine AutoPilote and now looking to pull the trigger on the Axiom to replace my 10 year old garman. I am looking at the 9+ do you mind sharing with me which model and did it come with charts?

I have the Raymarine axiom 9.

It came with all the charts for North America.

Re: Raymarine Axiom and Autopilot

I’m with the op - to a “t”
It’s a good system. The only thing I might have changed is up the screen size - but had no room. I run the radar and sometimes a split screen is nice.

Edit: stop the press.. just checked and there is a new companion app from Raymarine (new to me anyway) old phone app was mirror only, control needed the iPad we bought just for this. Looks like I need to stay up to date better. Have been distracted with the new vesper cortex…takes things up a notch.

Re: Raymarine Axiom and Autopilot

Modern electronics have definitely gotten a lot better in terms of systems integration compared to what was out there 10-15 years ago.

Re: Raymarine Axiom and Autopilot

definitely. I can’t wait to get the wind instruments involved shortly.

then I can participate in the Multihull VMG threads.

And eventually the radar.

Re: Raymarine Axiom and Autopilot

Don't worry, Raymarine will make it all obsolete in less than two years.

I recently picked up the Axiom 9 RV to replace my aged E80 display. looked great in the store. Haven't been back to the boat to install it. Plus I need to redo the backbone and put in a converter for the ST1 sensors.

Glad it worked out or you.
